Now it's time to introduce the band members and get to know a little bit more about who they are and where they started out as musicians.
Larry Power ~ Lead Guitar & Vocals
Larry has played professionally for many years and performed with many blues and rock legends: playing gigs with Elliot Randall ( Steely Dan), members of the rock band "Boston", and local blues legend James Montgomery, and with his own bands. He opened for Jimi Hendrix in 1968, recorded an album with the "Father of the British Blues" Alexis Korner, in 1970. His greatest memory is jamming with the Allman Brothers Band and playing slide guitar face to face with Dicky Betts. "My ultimate fantasy come true".
Jack Reardon ~ Harmonica & Vocals
Jack picked up the harmonica at age 14, was influenced by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, John Mayall, James Cotton and Magic Dick ( J. Geils Band), Charlie Musslewhite, Kim Wilson and Little Walter. Being self taught, it wasn't until 1997 when he started jamming with other musicians. In 2001 Jack met James Montgomery and Jerry Portnoy who ,as Jack puts it, "pointed me in right direction on how to advance my playing techniques". That experience brought Jack to a local open mic where he had the opportunity to play Classic Rock, Country, and Blues with many other great players. Jack has jammed with local artists such as Toni Lynn Washington, Bruce Bears, Johnny A and many others in the Boston Blues scene.
Bill Cummings ~ Bass & Vocals
Bill's roots trace back to Country music and started playing bass in 1980 and played his first gigs in 1981 with late country singer/player Burt Paquette as a member of Nighthawk. Bill played off and on with Burt through 1985, also playing gigs with local artists Preacher Jack and Jerry Paquette (Burt's brother) and Darrill Jandreau in the Silver Saddle band through 1987. He was the original bass player with The Kan-Tu Blues band from 1987 to 1989 before taking a 12 years hiatus from playing professionally and started his own successful business B&B Locksmith in late 1989. Bill started playing again in 2002 with many other local musicians. Started Bucket of Blues in 2007
LeRoy Pina ~ Drums & Vocals
LeRoy started playing at age 14, a self taught drummer, he learned playing along to records by The Beatles, Wilson Pickett, Gene Krupa and Sandy Nelson. LeRoy has recorded and played with many great musicians like the late Blues Legend J.B. Hutto, Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson, Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells, Cary Bell, and Albert King, jammed with Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jackson Brown to name a few. LeRoy has performed at The Montreaux Jazz Festival, Switzerland with J.B. and Luther in 1982. LeRoy still free lances with local bands when he's not playing with Bucket of Blues or 12:01 Blues Band.
